Welcome to Three Oaks Ranch

Three Oaks Ranch is a horse and cattle ranch in Northwest Georgia. Located in Gordon County (Resaca), we started our operations in 2001 and continue to work toward building and improving our facilities, horses, and cattle. Our ranch is adjacent to over 3,000 acres of naturally wooded terrain just a step away; perfect for trail riding, hunting and camping.

We captured our first Championship Title in 2005 with a horse named "Peppy Little Sporty", aka Sport. Billy Prather and Sport were crowned the 2005 SCQHA All Age Working Cow Horse Year End Champions. That same year, Jim Dunn and Sport brought home the 2005 GRCHA Non-Pro Bridle Year End Reserve Championship. To finish off the year, Billy Prather and Sport were also Reserve Champions in an ARHA Ranch Horse Versatility show held in Chatsworth, GA.

Going into 2006, we invested in some additional "horsepower" and what a year it turned out to be. Winning three Championship titles, and two Reserve Championship titles, Pass The Buck Badger "Fatso" and Jim Dunn brought home the AQHA Region 10 Experience Championship in Amateur Reining, Reserve Championship in All Age Working Cow Horse, and a Top Ten Finish in the Ranch Horse Versatility. The pair finished off the year with two Championships in the GRCHA Novice Non Pro and Non Pro Bridle divisions and a Reserve Championship in the DRHA Green Reiner division. They also finished in the 2006 NRCHA Southeastern Top Ten in Non Pro and Novice Non Pro Bridle resulting in an invitation to the 2006 NRCHA World Show, where they managed to be Top Ten Finalists eventually capturing a 6th Place finish in Novice Non Pro Bridle. On top of that, Horizon's Hot Freckle and Billy Prather captured the Championship in the SCQHA's All Age Working Cow Horse division. Additionally, "Peppy Little Sporty", that did so well for us in 2005 continued his success in the show pen after being sold to Daniel Phipps, a youth rider from Tennessee. Daniel and Sport brought home 6 of 7 Championships they entered at the 2006 ARHA World Show.

2007 resulted in continued success for Pass The Buck Badger "Fatso", capturing two 3rd Place finishes at the 2007 AQHA Region 10 Experience in All Age Heading (Rusty Wright) and Senior Reining (Deborah Wright). With a limited show schedule, Jim and Fatso also qualified for the 2007 AQHA World Show in Amateur Working Cow Horse and were NRCHA Southeastern Region Top Ten Finishers; qualifying in both Novice Non Pro and Non Pro Bridle classes for the 2007 NRCHA World Show. Following up on their success from 2006, they were Top Ten Finalists at the 2007 NRCHA World Show in the Novice Non Pro Division following their GRCHA Reserve Championship Title in the Novice Non-Pro Division.

2008 promises to be another chapter in our horses success. The focus is to compete on a National level across multiple events and disciplines. Horizon's Hot Freckle, a proven Cow Horse, and Brandon Sutton (Cleveland, TN) are focused on making their bid at the 2008 AQHA World Show in Heading and Heeling along with the ARHA World Show in multiple events. Pass The Buck Badger and Chip Stewart (Dawson, GA) will focus on NRHA shows coupled with Jim Dunn's and Pass The Buck Badger's return to the 2008 NRCHA World Show. This Summer, Jim and Fatso plan on competing in their first ever ARHA World Show in Murfeesboro, TN. We're building our future upon our historical success and are expecting our first foal crop this year and look forward to crowning our future champion horses.

We invite you to take a look around and learn more about us and the organizations we're a part of. We are proud Sponsors of the Georgia Reined Cow Horse Association, National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity, East Coast Reined Cow Horse Classic, and the South Carolina Quarter Horse Association.
